Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri has been ruled out of his side's Champions League clash against Manchester United next week due to injury.
The 22-year-old was diagnosed with a muscle tear in his right thigh following Bayern's 1-0 loss at Augsburg on Saturday evening.
It is not yet known for how long the injury will keep the Swiss international out of action, but the club's chief medical officer Dr. Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt confirmed that he will miss the quarter-final second-leg tie at the Allianz Arena.
Shaqiri joins Thiago Alcantara on the injury list at the Bundesliga champions, while both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javi Martinez will also miss out on Wednesday night through suspension.
