Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez believes that his side are "capable of beating any rival" as he targets glory in the Champions League.

Alexis Sanchez has admitted that he 'dreams' of winning the Champions League with Manchester United and insists that his side are capable of beating anyone.

In-form United resume their quest for European glory on Tuesday night with the first leg of their last-16 tie against French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

The Red Devils head into that match in the midst of an incredible run of form that has seen them win 10 and draw one of their 11 matches under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Sanchez has never previously lifted the famous trophy, having joined Barcelona the season after they won it in 2011, and he is eager to put that right during his time at Old Trafford.

"The Champions League is a dream for any footballer," he told The Mirror. "I lived with that dream at Barcelona and saw what it was like. I hope I can win it one day and why not here?

"We have got through the group stage and PSG is next. It's a big test but it's 180 minutes of football - anything can happen. United is a club with so much history and is capable of beating any rival.

"If we win at Old Trafford and we don't concede, then I think we would be favourites for the second leg. I think we can do that and I see this United team with a lot of chances to score in Paris."

Sanchez has struggled to justify his rumoured £500,000-a-week salary since joining United from Arsenal 13 months ago, scoring just three times in 39 Premier League and Champions League appearances.
