England goalkeeper vows to ignore critics of his side on social media networks, with his focus on securing World Cup qualification.

England goalkeeper Joe Hart has insisted that his side will continue to ignore critics and focus solely on securing qualification for next summer's World Cup finals.

The Three Lions were roundly criticsed following last week's 1-1 draw against the Republic of Ireland, with Gary Lineker using Twitter to label the performance as something from the 'dark ages'.

Hart believes that his team responded well in Sunday's 2-2 draw with Brazil and will continue to focus on the positives, with crucial World Cup qualifiers to come later this year.

He told The Sun when asked about online sceptics: "I'm not interested in stuff like that.

"They can tweet all they want from their sofas, we are out here doing it. It is hard work and we are enjoying it. No one in the squad is interested and they can tweet all they want.

"We've beaten Spain and Brazil at home in the past year-and-a-half. No-one has taken us apart, we just need to get over the line in the World Cup qualifiers. We dug in when we needed to and we have to repeat that."

The Manchester City stopper is a firm fixture for his country, earning 32 caps after establishing himself as England's first-choice keeper in the last three years.
