Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake emerges as a loan target for West Ham United, according to a report.

West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a loan deal for Manchester City centre-back Nathan Ake.

The Hammers are expected to be without Kurt Zouma until March due to the hamstring problem that the Frenchman picked up during the 3-2 win over Chelsea on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Angelo Ogbonna will miss the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury, leaving Craig Dawson and Issa Diop as the club's only two fit first-team centre-backs.

According to The Sun, Hammers boss David Moyes wants to bring a new defender to the London Stadium during the January transfer window, and Ake has emerged as a leading target.

The report claims that the capital side are hoping to tempt the 26-year-old with the offer of regular football, although the top-four hopefuls face a battle to convince Man City to let him leave.

The Netherlands international is down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium but has still made 10 appearances in all competitions during the 2021-22 campaign, including five outings in the Premier League.
