Kieran Trippier completes Burnley switch

Kieran Trippier leaves Manchester City to join Championship club Burnley on a permanent basis.

Burnley have confirmed that they have completed the permanent addition of Kieran Trippier from Manchester City.

The 21-year-old initially joined the Clarets on a season-long loan deal from the Premier League leaders, but has now committed his long-term future at Turf Moor.

"We are absolutely delighted to have Kieran on board," manager Eddie Howe told the club's official website.

"He has been a really huge part of our team, how we have played this year and how we want to go forward.

"He has just got better and better and I can't speak highly enough of him as a person and as a footballer."

The defender was sent off as Burnley lost 2-1 at Leeds United yesterday afternoon.
