Racing Club de Avellaneda have announced that midfielder Bruno Zuculini is poised to undergo a medical at Manchester City.
Zuculini was first linked with a switch to Eastlands back in December, but Victor Blanco, president of the Argentine outfit, earlier this month confirmed that a move was edging nearer.
Now, Racing have announced that the 21-year-old skipped Thursday's training session in order to catch a flight to Manchester for a medical.
A statement read: "The only player who was not present [at training] was Bruno Zuculini, who travelled to England to perform the medical examination at Manchester City."
The news comes just hours after the Premier League champions tied up a deal for Porto midfielder Fernando earlier today.
Zuculini, a former Argentina Under-20 international, would join up with compatriots Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta and Martin Demichelis if the switch materialises.
