Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he is happy with the summer's transfer business and believes that his squad is ready for the new season.
Pellegrini has brought in several new faces, including Alvaro Negredo and Fernandinho, and the Chilean said that his squad is now good enough to compete in all competitions.
"We are absolutely ready," he told Sky Sports News. "I think we had a very good pre-season and I have worked for about 40 days with all the players.
"We are in very good shape to start the season. We played seven friendlies with different starting XIs [so the whole squad should be prepared].
"I'm very pleased [with our transfer business]. We have a squad for the Premier League and also the Champions League. We have the squad we need and tried to complete every area [that required strengthening]."
Recent reports have linked City with a move for Real Madrid centre-back Pepe.
