Manchester City full-back Pedro Porro is reportedly set to leave the club and join Sporting Lisbon on permanent deal.

Manchester City full-back Pedro Porro is reportedly set to leave the club and join Sporting Lisbon on a permanent deal.

The 22-year-old – who is yet to make an appearance for the Citizens since arriving from Girona in 2019 – is currently enjoying the second part of his two-year loan spell with the Primeira Liga champions.

According to Record, Porro has agreed to sign for Sporting on a permanent deal, with negotiations between both clubs believed to be at an advanced stage.

The report adds that the Portuguese giants plan to activate Porro's €8.5m (£7.2m) option-to-buy clause and the defender will sign a five-year deal, including a €45m (£38.2m) release clause.

It remains unknown as to whether City will insert a buy-back clause in the player's contract, as they did with former full-back Angelino when he left the Etihad Stadium for PSV Eindhoven back in 2018, before rejoining the Sky Blues a year later.

Porro – who earned his first senior cap with the Spanish national team in March – has made 50 appearances across all competitions for Sporting, scoring six goals and providing three assists.
