The father of Lionel Messi has reportedly arrived in England to hold discussions with Manchester City.
On Tuesday evening, it was revealed that Messi had informed Barcelona of his desire to end his long-term association with the club.
Although the Catalan giants do not want to sell the 33-year-old this summer, their hand could be forced due to the forward having less than a year remaining on his contract.
The player's decision has naturally led to speculation regarding a move to another top European club, including City, who are managed by Messi's former boss Pep Guardiola.
According to RAC1 and TyC Sports, the Argentine's father Jorge Messi has travelled to the city in order to speak with officials at the Premier League side.
The report claims that City are prepared to hand Messi a two-year contract, giving the superstar more leeway with regards to the latter years of his career.
Barcelona are allegedly open to considering offers in the region of £200m.
