Manchester City sign 'the new Lionel Messi'?

Manchester City reportedly beat Barcelona to the signature of 14-year-old Brahim Abdelkader Diaz, dubbed 'the new Messi'.

Manchester City have reportedly won the race to sign youngster Brahim Abdelkader Diaz from Malaga.

The 14-year-old has been described as 'the new Lionel Messi', prompting both City and Spanish giants Barcelona to battle for the forward's signature.

Despite Barca's interest, it is understood that City have paid £300,000 up front for Diaz, with the fee eventually reaching £2.4m depending on what he achieves at the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The youngster has been tipped to be worth between £30m and £40m in the future.
