Eibar goalkeeper Asier Riesgo has reportedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Manchester City.
A long-term injury to Claudio Bravo has forced Arijanet Muric to play second fiddle to Ederson this season, preventing the youngster from gaining regular action with NAC Breda in the Eredivisie.
However, Muric is now being linked with a season-long loan switch to Nottingham Forest, a deal which would leave City needing to enter the market for another backup stopper.
According to The Sun, that has resulted in City looking to secure a deal for Riesgo, who will turn 36 in October.
The veteran is available on a free transfer after spending the last four years at Eibar, making a total of 65 league appearances during that period.
The report suggests that Riesgo would be regarded as third choice, providing that Bravo remains at the Etihad Stadium after recovering from an Achilles injury.
