Manchester City complete signing of Colombian forward Marlos Moreno

Manchester City announce the signing of Colombian international forward Marlos Moreno.

Colombian international forward Marlos Moreno has joined Manchester City from Nacional to take the club's spending on young talent this week to the £70m mark.

The 19-year-old attacker joins Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus, who signed for a combined £64m, in putting pen to paper at the Etihad Stadium.

Moreno, like Jesus, will spend time away from Manchester this coming season, however, as he links up with Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna for the 2016-17 season.

Speaking to City's official website, he said: "City are one of the best clubs in the world. It will be nice to experience being part of such a big club. I want to make the most of it.

"Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers in the world. I think he likes young players very much and he can improve young players tactically and technically. It will be great to work with him and to be part of a great team."

Moreno was handed his Colombia debut in March 2015 after a string of impressive displays for Nacional, replacing former Chelsea ace Juan Cuadrado to set up a late winner for his side.

City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: "Marlos is an excellent prospect who has already broken into his national team.

"He's a versatile player, still learning, but we believe he has a fantastic future in the game and with City. He makes and scores goals and is an intelligent footballer, we're delighted to have signed him."

Guardiola has now made seven signings since taking over earlier this summer, with Sane, Ilkay Gundogan, Nolito, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Jesus and Aaron Mooy all joining ahead of the new campaign.
