Manchester City have allegedly turned their attention to Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri after failing to make progress in their efforts to sign Jorginho from Napoli.
The Premier League champions are happy to pay around £36m for the Ivory Coast international, according to The Mirror.
City were unwilling to meet Napoli's £60m valuation of Jorginho and the report suggests that they view Seri as a more viable alternative.
Meanwhile, the Sky Blues have also been linked with Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic, who would play a similar role in their team.
Arsenal and West Ham United have also been linked with the Ivorian, although neither side are believed to have tabled a bid.
