Manchester City complete Martin Demichelis deal

Manchester City sign Martin Demichelis from Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Martin Demichelis on a two-year contract from Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone signed the 32-year-old on a free transfer just over seven weeks ago, but he will now join the Citizens for a reported fee of £4.2m.

"I am delighted to have joined City because I am still hungry for success and want to improve," the Argentinian international told the club's official website.

"I have been in Europe for 11 years now and this was a great chance for me to play in the Premier League with such a big club."

Demichelis played under City boss Manuel Pellegrini during his time at Malaga.
