Manchester City centre-back Eric Garcia reportedly remains a target for former club Barcelona heading into the final stages of the summer transfer window.

Barcelona will reportedly make one final bid in the region of £16m to Manchester City for young defender Eric Garcia.

The Catalan giants are thought to have already had one offer turned down for the 19-year-old, who progressed through their academy ranks before joining City in 2018.

Garcia rejected the offer of a new contract at the Etihad Stadium and will become a free agent in a year's time, leaving City with a big decision to make.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Barca intend to test the Citizens' resolve on deadline day with another proposal.

However, the deal will not include the option to sign midfielder Rafinha, as has previously been reported.

City broke their transfer record earlier this summer to bring in Ruben Dias, who is expected to form a long-term partnership with Aymeric Laporte at the back.
