Barcelona may reportedly be able to engineer a position where they can afford to sign Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland.

Barcelona may allegedly be able to afford Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Braut Haaland, providing that they can part ways with as many as eight players.

While Barcelona's financial problems have been well-documented, they were still able to secure the signing of Manchester City winger Ferran Torres at the turn of the year.

The Catalan giants allegedly intend to take out a substantial loan in order to rebuild Camp Nou and sign new players, as well as getting a significant chunk of the first-team squad off the wage bill.

Speaking to BBC Sport, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has suggested that following the departure of Philippe Coutinho with the exits of Samuel Umtiti, Sergino Dest, Clement Lenglet, Frenkie de Jong, Martin Braithwaite, Oscar Mingueza and Luuk de Jong could put them in a favorable position to sign Haaland.

With Haaland available for a fee in the region of £63m at the end of the season, Balague believes that there could be financial leeway to bring in the Norway international.

Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be preparing bids for the 21-year-old.
