Manchester City 'want Pep Guardiola to replace Manuel Pellegrini'

Manchester City are allegedly hoping to prise Pep Guardiola away from Bayern Munich.

Manchester City have reportedly earmarked Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola as their top choice to replace under-fire manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Premier League champions are hoping to prise the Spaniard away from the Bundesliga giants at the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

The managerial change is expected to be part of a major shake-up at City following a disappointing season both domestically and in Europe.

Players including Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Bacary Sagna, Jesus Navas, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic could reportedly be offloaded to fund a summer spending spree.

Rumours suggest that Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling will be City's primary target when the transfer window reopens in July.
