Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has revealed that he almost walked away from football last year.
After being eliminated from the Copa America with Argentina, Tevez had a bust-up with manager Roberto Mancini during a match with Bayern Munich, and the forward has admitted that both incidents left him disillusioned with football.
Tevez told Rock and Cross: "Last year, I almost retired.
"I had lost the desire to play, alone in my room, crying. When the bad times come, they all come together. With the Argentina national team, we were eliminated from the Copa America at home. After the fight with Roberto [Mancini], I did not want anything more to do with football.
"Luckily today, I am fine. I regained the desire to play."
Tevez has scored eight goals for Manchester City this season.
