Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella omits Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore from his squad for the upcoming matches with Ecuador and Brazil.

Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez and Paris Saint-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore have both been left out of the Argentina squad for the upcoming games against Ecuador and Brazil.

Coach Alejandro Sabella has named 18 foreign-based players for the June fixtures and will complete the squad with home-based players next week.

La Liga stars Lionel Messi and Gonzalo Higuain have been included, as have City duo Sergio Aguero and Pablo Zabaleta.

The biggest surprise is the selection of uncapped defender Matias Rodriguez, who plays in Chile for Universidad.

Squad in full:

Sergio Romero (Sampdoria); Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City), Matias Rodriguez (Universidad de Chile), Ezequiel Garay (Benfica), Federico Fernandez (Napoli), Hugo Campagnaro (Napoli), Marcos Rojo (Spartak); Javier Mascherano (Barcelona), Fernando Gago (Roma), Jose Sosa (FC Metalist), Maxi Rodriguez (Liverpool), Pablo Guinazu (Internacional), Eduardo Salvio (Atletico Madrid); Ezequiel Lavezzi (Napoli), Angel Di Maria (Real Madrid), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gonzalo Higuain (Real Madrid), Sergio Aguero (Manchester City)
