Manchester City youngsters 'concerned about Pep Guardiola arrival'

A number of Manchester City's most talented youngsters are reportedly concerned that Pep Guardiola's arrival will hurt their chances of breaking into the first team.

A number of Manchester City youngsters are concerned that the impending arrival of Pep Guardiola will hurt their chances of first-team football at the club, according to reports.

Guardiola will take over from incumbent boss Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the current season and is expected to be handed a massive transfer kitty to attract some of the world's top players to the club.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Robert Lewandowski have all been linked with moves to the Etihad Stadium to team up with the former Barcelona and current Bayern Munich boss.

However, that potential influx of established stars has upset a number of the club's most talented players in the Under-16 ranks, according to the Daily Mail.

The youngsters are reportedly stalling over new contracts due to concerns that their chances of breaking into the first team will severely diminish should Guardiola usher in a Galactico-esque era.

City have been working to build their academy in recent seasons, and this term have seen the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho and Bersant Celina break into the first team.
