France boss Didier Deschamps rules out Samir Nasri recall

Didier Deschamps hints that Samir Nasri will not play for France again while he is manager.

France manager Didier Deschamps has hinted that Samir Nasri will not play for the national team again while he is in charge.

The Manchester City midfielder retired from international football and reportedly fell out with Deschamps after the coach did not select him in the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Deschamps has said that he does not expect Nasri to return for Les Bleus anytime soon.

"From the moment that I didn't pick him for the World Cup, I knew that I didn't make him happy. But I accept responsibility for that choice," the Manchester Evening News quotes Deschamps as saying.

"I don't see why I would review my position in relation to what I saw. I didn't take my decision just like that, without having seen, talked and exchanged.

"He was called up to several gatherings where I formed my opinion and took my decision. These days I don't ask myself the question [about whether he should be recalled]."

The last of Nasri's 41 caps for France came in 2013.
