Manchester City have reportedly opened contract talks with Aymeric Laporte over a new long-term deal.
Laporte, who joined City from Athletic Bilbao last January, has played every Premier League game for Pep Guardiola's side during the 2018-19 campaign.
Having established himself as one of the best centre-backs in England's top flight, the Daily Mail reports that City have opened talks with the 24-year-old over a new deal.
The report claims that Laporte can expect an increase in salary to reflect his importance to the team.
The defender has contributed four goals in 35 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions this season.
The reigning Premier League champions will travel to Schalke 04 for the first leg of their last-16 Champions League clash on Wednesday, before facing Chelsea in the EFL Cup final this weekend.
