The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the campaign so far.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.
Sunday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:
Tottenham Hotspur in advanced talks for Man Utd-linked Milan Skriniar?
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly leading the race to sign Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
The Slovakia international has established a reputation as one of Europe's leading centre-backs over the past couple of seasons, but Skriniar only started one of Inter's last four Serie A games in the most recent campaign.
Skriniar has been linked with moves to both Manchester City and Manchester United as of late, but the two arch-rivals have reportedly been joined by Spurs in the race to sign the highly-rated defender.
According to Tuttosport, Tottenham could look to use Inter's supposed interest in Tanguy Ndombele to their advantage in negotiations, and a swap deal could be on the cards as Jose Mourinho looks to secure Skriniar's signature ahead of next season.
However, the report claims that Skriniar's future at Inter is heavily dependent on the manager situation at the San Siro, and I Nerazzurri will be reluctant to sell the 25-year-old if Antonio Conte departs.
Skriniar has just under three years left to run on his current deal with Inter.
Barcelona to make £14m bid for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia?
Barcelona are reportedly ready to make a £14m offer for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
Despite having recently been given a run of matches in the starting lineup, Garcia has informed Pep Guardiola that he does not want to pen a new contract.
With less than a year remaining on the 19-year-old's deal, it leaves City with a decision to make regarding the Spaniard's future.
According to Goal, Barcelona will hand the Premier League giants a chance to recoup £14m for the prospect in the coming days.
However, that approach is likely to be rejected by City, who allegedly want in excess of £30m.
Garcia has previously spent time in the Barcelona academy system, increasing the chances of the centre-back eventually returning to Camp Nou.
