Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has said that it is important for the club to win silverware ahead of the League Cup final against Sunderland on Sunday.
Toure said that if City can win trophies regularly it will convince the top players to sign for the club, just as the FA Cup win in 2011 brought Sergio Aguero the following summer.
"I've dedicated my heart to winning silverware for this club," he told BBC Sport. "I knew when I first arrived that getting the silverware would mean we would attract great players and after the FA Cup success in 2011, Sergio Aguero signed for us and we went on to win the title.
"If you want to have great players around you, you need to keep winning trophies - if that happens, more great players will come."
City are currently third in the Premier League table.
