Leroy Sane: 'I think I'm ready to play'

New Manchester City winger Leroy Sane hints that he is ready to play ahead of the Manchester derby, having spent some time on the sidelines with a hamstring strain.

Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has revealed that he feels fit enough to compete in the looming Manchester derby this weekend.

The German youngster joined City from Schalke 04 for a reported fee of £37m in August, but is yet to make an appearance for the Sky Blues after suffering from a hamstring strain.

City fans might finally get to have a look at the 20-year-old, though, given that the playmaker has suggested that he is now feeling ready to go.

"I feel good now and I think I'm ready to play," Sane told the club's official website. "I've trained well and my hamstring is fine so I'm looking for to finally getting started.

"I've played in derby games in Germany but this should be a great match and one I'm really looking forward to, especially because Pep Guardiola is taking on Jose Mourinho."

United and City will meet in the 172nd Manchester derby early on Saturday afternoon.
