Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Newcastle United

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League clash with Newcastle United on Boxing Day.

Manchester City will be looking to make it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions when they welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad Stadium for a Premier League clash on Boxing Day.

The Citizens go into the game having swept aside Arsenal in the EFL Cup quarter-finals, and Pep Guardiola also witnessed his crop scrape a 1-0 victory at Southampton in their most recent top-flight encounter.

As things stand, City find themselves eighth in the Premier League table, although Guardiola's men do have a game in hand over most of the teams above them as they attempt to break into the top four.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's visit of Newcastle.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

City announced on Christmas Day that Gabriel Jesus was one of two players to return positive coronavirus tests, so the Brazilian forward will play no part against Newcastle or Everton.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Kyle Walker was the second City player to test positive for COVID-19, with the right-back now set to recover at home alongside Jesus for the next couple of weeks.

Eric Garcia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle injury
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Chelsea)

Man City have only one injury concern at the moment in the form of Eric Garcia, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona. The centre-back's muscular problem he picked up in the win over Marseille is likely to rule him out of action until the New Year.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man City have no players suspended for this match.
