Half-Time Report: Victor Moses, Diafra Sakho goals give West Ham United lead over Manchester City

Goals from Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho give West Ham United a 2-1 half-time lead away to Manchester City this evening, while Kevin De Bruyne scores his first for City.

Goals from Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho have helped West Ham United move into a shock 2-1 lead at half time in their game away at Premier League leaders Manchester City this evening.

The hosts missed the first chance of the match, as Fernandinho met a Kevin De Bruyne corner with a header, but his effort was saved by West Ham goalkeeper Adrian.

West Ham scored the opener soon after, as Moses collected a pass from Dimitri Payet before firing a shot past Joe Hart from 25 yards after just six minutes.

Sergio Aguero should have pegged the Hammers back immediately, as the Argentine striker rounded Adrian outside the box, before dragging his shot wide.

The Citizens almost found an equaliser through Nicolas Otamendi, but the centre-back headed over the bar from a corner.

The visitors doubled their lead on 31 minutes, after Winston Reid missed a chance from a corner, before Pedro Obiang recovered the ball and found Sakho to finish from close range.

City had a chance to pull a goal back before half time through Aguero, but the striker sent his effort high and wide after picking up a cross from Raheem Sterling, before the Argentine missed another chance from inside the penalty box moments later.

The hosts reduced the deficit to one goal in added time, as De Bruyne struck a powerful effort into the bottom corner of the West Ham goal.
