Pep Guardiola: 'Manchester City cannot complain about fixtures'

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says that he 'prefers to be in the position' that his side currently find themselves in, with the fixtures coming thick and fast.

Pep Guardiola has insisted that he is happy with Manchester City's fixture backlog, as his side continue their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple.

The Citizens turn attention to FA Cup duties this weekend when taking on Cardiff City, five days after beating Bristol City to progress through to the final of the EFL Cup.

City, who also have the Champions League and Premier League to contend with, have seen their top-flight meeting with Arsenal scheduled for next month pushed back to the Thursday after the sides face off at Wembley Stadium.

Guardiola's men then welcome Chelsea to the Etihad Stadium on March 4 and take on Basel three days later, but the Catalan coach claims that there can be no complaints.

"There are a lot of games, we play a lot, and we still have to play a lot," he told reporters at his weekly presser. "But it is what it is. I prefer to be in the position we have. Last season we were not in the four competitions.

"We are going to see where we arrive. Every game is so important in every competition. Game by game we will see how is our level."

City are currently 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League, with 14 games left to play.
