Manchester City midfielder David Silva has warned tonight's Champions League opponents Villarreal that he is in his "best form ever".
Silva has achieved three goals and six assists in ten league games and hopes to continue this form in the Champions League.
"We might be rookies in the Champions League but our mission is to take our good league form into Europe and show we can be happy there too," Silva said.
"Speaking for myself, I am enjoying my best form ever, including my time with Valencia. I am the same person as last season but, as a footballer, I have matured a lot.
"I know the City style better and have adapted to all aspects of club life."
Silva was shortlisted for the FIFA Ballon d'Or award yesterday alongside Premier League peers Robin van Persie, Luis Suarez, Wayne Rooney and City teammate Sergio Aguero.
"I'm not that concerned about personal awards but to win that one would be sensational," Silva said of the nomination.
"Roberto Mancini insists I improve my performances even more and that's my challenge. I am a winner. I dream of winning the Premier League."
Manchester City are currently third in the Champions League Group A table, with four points from three games.
