Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has suggested that qualification from Champions League Group D is "an incredible achievement".
The Belgian's side progressed to the knockout stages of the tournament after a 2-1 victory over Sevilla this evening, but Kompany insists that his side must work hard to top the group and avoid a tough draw in the next round.
"It's a difficult group, and for us to qualify with two games spare is an incredible achievement," Kompany told BT Sport.
"We go on, it would be a first for us to finish first in a group and that's important - we've been unlucky in draws before so we need to make sure we reach the first pot.
"Our gameplan was perfect today. We defended solidly, we were big in aerial battles, and throughout the team it was a great performance."
City will take on Juventus in their next Champions League fixture on Wednesday, November 25.
