Raheem Sterling follows comedy fall with sensational goal in 6-0 Man City win

The forward was awarded a dubious penalty after tripping over his own feet.

Manchester City's Raheem Sterling went from the ridiculous to the sublime during Manchester City's 6-0 win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League group stage.

The England forward won City's first penalty of the game after stubbing his foot on the ground when through on goal against the Ukrainian side, with Gabriel Jesus converting from the spot to double the lead.

All those penalty appeals not given, then Sterling gets one after kicking the ground and falling over. Bit of a farce. Ordinarily he'd be embarrassed but he probably feels he was owed that one

And with the second half just minutes old, Sterling produced something far more impressive at the other end as he slalomed through the visitors' midfield to add a third.
