Malaga are free to play in Europe next season as UEFA lifts it one-year ban on the Spanish club.

UEFA has announced that it has lifted the European ban it had imposed on Malaga earlier this season.

The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) adjudicatory chamber made the announcement on Wednesday after a meeting in Nyon, Switzerland.

This means that the Spanish club will now be eligible to play in next season's Champions League or the Europa League if they qualify.

The Andalucian side were handed a one-year ban from Europe by UEFA for financial irregularities, but their subsequent appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has been successful.

Malaga are currently sixth in La Liga with 54 points from 36 matches and could qualify for next season's Europa League but not the Champions League, as fourth-placed Real Sociedad are eight points ahead with two more rounds of matches left this campaign.
