Cristian Tello rules out Liverpool switch

Cristian Tello says that he is determined to remain at Barcelona amid speculation linking him with a January switch to Liverpool.

Barcelona forward Cristian Tello has ruled out the prospect of leaving Camp Nou during the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old has made just 16 appearances in all competitions under coach Gerardo Martino this season, prompting speculation that a winter move away from Catalunya could be on the cards for the Spaniard.

Liverpool are among the clubs believed to be harbouring an interest in the attacker, but Tello says that he is determined to prove himself with the Catalan giants.

He told Barca's official website: "The most important thing is to play, get time on the pitch and work hard. You always have to give the best of yourself and take advantage of your opportunities.

"I'm happy here. I'm not playing as much as I did last year, but I'm not giving up."

The youngster remains contracted to the Blaugrana until 2018.
