Liverpool target Joe Allen is reportedly valued at £16m by Swansea City, the same price that the Reds paid Sunderland for Jordan Henderson last summer.

Swansea City will reportedly demand £16m from Liverpool if they are to part with midfielder Joe Allen this summer.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of heavy speculation linking him with a move to Anfield ever since former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers took charge of the Merseyside club last month.

Rodgers is said to be preparing an £8m bid for Allen, who has made 150 first-team appearances for the South Wales club.

However, Swansea are likely to dismiss such an offer and tell Liverpool to stump up the same fee that they paid when they signed Jordan Henderson from Sunderland last summer, according to The Mirror.

Allen is currently with the men's Great Britain football squad preparing for tomorrow night's friendly with Brazil.
