Stoke City's deal to sign Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi has 'gone cold'

Stoke City boss Mark Hughes reveals that the club's attempts to sign Oussama Assaidi from Liverpool have "gone cold".

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has suggested that the club are unlikely to sign Oussama Assaidi on a permanent contract this summer because the deal has "gone cold".

Hughes has been open about his desire to land the Moroccan's signature following last season's loan stint, when he scored five goals in 25 appearances.

"It's common knowledge Ozzie is somebody we would like to bring into the club, but at the moment that deal has gone cold," Hughes told Stoke City Player.

"He is one we have chased for a while now, but there hasn't been any real movement on that front, so we will just have to wait and see what the situation is with regards to that deal."

The winger joined Liverpool from Heerenveen in 2012.
