Brendan Rodgers says that Liverpool defender Daniel Agger could be sold from the club this summer following reported interest from Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that he is willing to sell defender Daniel Agger in the summer transfer window.

The Denmark international has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester City and Rodgers has suggested that the 27-year-old could leave Anfield.

"Daniel is a top player and you do not want to lose your best players," said Rodgers. "He has been here seven years.

"He loves the club and its supporters. But every player has his price and we will see where it goes."

Recent reports have suggested that the Merseyside club will only be interested in accepting £22m for the centre-back.
