Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville says that Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool "in the next 12 months".

Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville has claimed that Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool "in the next 12 months".

Salah has been in outstanding form for the Reds since a 2017 switch from Roma, scoring 72 times in 107 appearances for the Merseyside giants in all competitions.

The 27-year-old still has four years left to run on his current deal, but Neville has said that the Egypt international will soon leave Anfield.

"Salah's going to leave in the next 12 months, I can see it already," Neville told Sky Bet. "[Jamie Carragher] knows, he won't say it. I can see it, you can feel it, you can smell it, you know when a player's like...."

Real Madrid and Barcelona were both linked with moves for the attacker earlier this summer, while Bayern Munich and Juventus have also previously been credited with an interest.

Salah has scored 44 and 27 goals respectively in his two seasons with Jurgen Klopp's side, and the Egyptian is already off the mark for the 2019-20 campaign having netted against Norwich City last Friday.
