Everton manager David Moyes is allegedly weighing up the possibility of bringing Liverpool's Charlie Adam to Goodison Park.

The Blues boss is said to be considering a £5m swoop for the Scotland midfielder, who is surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Moyes has money to spend following the sale of Jack Rodwell to Manchester City and has long been an admirer of Adam, having tried to sign him in the past.

However, the Scot is concerned that signing a player from Everton's bitter rivals could trigger a backlash from fans, The Mirror reports.

The last player to join Everton from Anfield was Gary Ablett more than two decades ago.
