A number of high-profile transfers could reportedly take place this summer if Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi may reportedly trigger a number of high-profile transfers if he joins Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

With less than five months remaining on his contract at Camp Nou, the Argentina international is being heavily linked with PSG and Manchester City.

If the 33-year-old opts to make the switch to Parc des Princes, Marca says that the deal could act as the catalyst for other players to move elsewhere.

PSG would likely be required to sell Neymar or Kylian Mbappe, potentially the latter with Real Madrid prepared to put together a proposal for the World Cup winner.

The report claims that Los Blancos regard Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah as an alternative if PSG are able to retain the services of Mbappe.

While Mbappe will have one year left on his contract in the summer, Salah is only tied to Liverpool until the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
