Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the club will look to offer Phillip Coutinho a new contract this summer.
The midfielder joined the Reds from Inter Milan in 2013, but the club is keen to offer him a pay rise to ensure that he is not tempted by offers from other teams.
Rodgers told The Mirror: "Coutinho is on the list of players we want to reward and hopefully over the course of the summer that is something we can do.
"He's certainly a great player, and a fine asset to the club. He's come in here and shown us quality, he's really developed as a player and a person and is now moving into the best years of his life as a footballer."
Coutinho has scored eight goals in 40 appearances for Liverpool since joining the side.
