Report: Liverpool to increase Nathaniel Clyne bid

Southampton will reportedly receive an offer from Liverpool for right-back Nathaniel Clyne this week.

Liverpool plan to make a second formal offer for Southampton full-back Nathaniel Clyne this week, according to reports.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to Manchester United for the majority of the 2015, but Liverpool were reportedly the first team to submit a bid of around £10m.

Southampton rejected that offer, but The Mirror claims that manager Brendan Rodgers wants to increase the bid this week.

Clyne is out of contract at St Mary's next summer and has stalled on signing a new one, which will weaken the South-Coast club when they negotiate a fee.

The ex-Crystal Palace player featured for England away at Slovenia yesterday.
