Liverpool are reportedly set to add Portuguese coach Vitor Matos to Jurgen Klopp's backroom team this week.
The 31-year-old served a number of roles with Porto, including B team assistant manager and opposition analyst, and he also spent time coaching in China.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Matos will be working to help ease the transition for young players from the club's academy to the first team.
The former Porto coach is in essence replacing Pep Lijnders, who was promoted to the position of Klopp's number two following the shock departure of Zeljko Buvac in 2018.
The Reds currently have a number of talented youngsters coming through their system, with the likes of Curtis Jones, Rhian Brewster, Harvey Elliott, Caoimhin Kelleher, Ki-Jana Hoever and Sepp van den Berg all featuring in last week's EFL Cup win over MK Dons.
