Liverpool midfielder 'has no plans to leave this summer'

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister reportedly has no plans to leave the club this summer, amid links to La Liga champions Real Madrid.

Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister is reportedly not interested in leaving the Anfield club over the summer.

The 25-year-old joined the Reds on a permanent deal from fellow Premier League outfit Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023 for an initial £35m.

Mac Allister has hit the ground running on Merseyside, scoring five goals and providing five assists from 33 league appearances in his first campaign at the club.

The attacking midfielder is also a key player on the international stage, having represented Argentina 25 times and helping them to lift the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Since making the switch from the South coast last year, Mac Allister has made 46 competitive appearances for Liverpool, steering them towards an EFL Cup success in February.

Liverpool's Mac Allister 'has no plans to leave'

According to Football Insider, Liverpool's Mac Allister has decided his future ahead of this summer's Copa America and the 2024-25 domestic campaign.

The report claims that the Argentine has no intention of leaving the Anfield-based club, despite rumours from elsewhere suggesting otherwise.

It is understood that Mac Allister has a £60m release clause in his contract at Liverpool, one which many European clubs would be willing to trigger.

European giants Real Madrid are said to be keen on a move for the World Cup winner, despite Los Blancos already being set for a monstrous summer transfer window.

Amid interest from the Spanish giants, it is believed that Mac Allister wants to kick on in Liverpool and work well for incoming head coach Arne Slot.

Liverpool's campaign digested

For a large part of the season, it appeared as if Premier League fans would be treated to a rare three-way title race between the Reds, Manchester City and Arsenal.

The latter two stayed in the conversation for the English crown right until the final day, however Jurgen Klopp's side bowed out of the pursuit of glory in April.

Liverpool won just two of their six Premier League matches in the fourth month of 2024, recording losses to Crystal Palace and local rivals Everton at Anfield.
