Liverpool are reportedly one of a number of European clubs who have registered an interest in Porto centre-back Chancel Mbemba.
The 26-year-old will see his contract expire at the end of next season and there are doubts about his future with the Portuguese giants.
Tuttomercatoweb reports that Serie A outfit Napoli have made an enquiry about Mbemba's availability and Liverpool have also asked about the former Newcastle United defender.
The report also adds that Porto value the Democratic Republic of the Congo international at around £12.8m, a fee the Reds would be willing to pay for a player with both Premier League and Champions League experience.
Mbemba has impressed since leaving the Magpies in 2018 and was a key part of the Porto side who beat Juventus 4-4 on away goals after extra time and booked their place in the last eight of the Champions League alongside Jurgen Klopp's men.
The defender has featured 81 times for the Primeira Liga champions, including 33 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
