Liverpool reportedly approach Newcastle United over potentially signing midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their interest in Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

The Merseyside outfit were linked with the Frenchman last season, but interest appeared to lessen as Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers turned to other targets.

However, it is understood that the club have reignited their interest in Ben Arfa by approaching the Magpies over a possible transfer, according to L'Equipe.

Ben Arfa has also been linked to Ligue 1 outfit Monaco this summer.
