Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt has claimed that he would like to remain at Anfield following the sacking of manager Kenny Dalglish.
The 31-year-old has been expected to leave the Merseyside outfit this summer but after the American owners' decision to axe Dalglish, Kuyt believes that he may have a chance of starting more games next season under a new boss.
"I hope I can stay with Liverpool," Kuyt told Algemeen Dagblad. "But that's what I said the last couple of months.
"With Dalgish as manager I didn't have the illusion he would let me start from the beginning [of matches] next season. We have to wait and see now. I'm not sure yet what Liverpool will do with this manager vacancy."
The Netherlands international has been linked with moves to the likes of Feyenoord and Hamburg.
