Jurgen Klopp: 'No sum of money would convince me to sell Philippe Coutinho'

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp issues a hands-off warning to Barcelona over Philippe Coutinho, insisting that "no price limit" will be enough to sell the Brazilian.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has suggested that "no price" will be enough for rival clubs to prise Philippe Coutinho away from Anfield.

The Brazil international has long been rumoured to be on Barcelona's radar, with the Reds believed to have rejected a second bid worth more than £90m from Camp Nou this week.

"From a financial standpoint, there is no price limit to let him go or a price that we are ready to give in," Klopp told Sky Sports News. "Our goal is to have the best possible team. So we want to keep our guys and add new ones. That is our plan.

"Today no player on the planet is untouchable. But a transfer is also a question of timing and if you have the opportunity and the need to react to such a transfer.

"Also you have to ask, if you have the time to react. But just because of one request of one club, we don't have to think about that. We are not in that situation. Liverpool is not a club that has to sell players. That is set in stone. So what they pay in the end doesn't matter."

Barca lost one of their star players last week after Coutinho's international teammate and fellow attacker Neymar sealed a world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain.
