Hull City, Blackpool reach agreement over Thomas Ince transfer fee

Hull City and Blackpool reach an agreement over the transfer of Thomas Ince, with a £2m fee plus add-ons to be handed over by the Tigers.

Hull City will pay Blackpool £2m for the signing of Thomas Ince after a settlement offer was reached by the two clubs.

The 22-year-old joined the Tigers last summer on a two-year deal following high-profile talks with a number of teams, including both Inter Milan and Liverpool.

A fee had not been settled, though, meaning that an independent tribunal was expected to resolve the issue.

However, on the back of late negotiations yesterday, Hull and Blackpool reached an agreement which will see the £2m fee potentially boosted by a series of additional instalments should the winger make a set number of appearances, while the sum will rise further should City avoid relegation from the Premier League.

Liverpool will also benefit from the deal, taking 35% - or £700,000 - of the agreed fee for their part in developing the England Under-21s regular as a youngster.

Ince has made eight appearances for the Humberside outfit, featuring in four of the club's last five games upon his return from a loan spell at Nottingham Forest.
