Newcastle United's Yohan Cabaye: 'Joe Cole should leave Liverpool for Lille'

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye tells Liverpool's Joe Cole that he should return to France following his loan stint with Lille last season.

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye believes that Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole should return to Lille in order to grab more first-team football.

The 30-year-old, who spent a season-long loan at the Ligue 1 club last year, has failed to make an impact on his Anfield return under new manager Brendan Rodgers due to injury and falling down the pecking order.

"It is not easy for him because he does not play much," Cabaye told L'Equipe. "It worked well for him at Lille, maybe would be a good idea for him to return there."

Cabaye, who moved to St James's Park from Lille, netted the opening goal in the Magpies' 1-1 draw with Liverpool last night.
