Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has already reportedly agreed personal terms with Liverpool ahead of a proposed transfer.
The Merseyside outfit are said to have triggered the forward's £32.5m release clause this week.
The approach is believed to have been made after Liverpool sealed the £49m sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.
According to Belgian journalist Kristoff Terruer, there are only a few aspects of the deal that need to be tied up and Benteke is expected to be a Liverpool player before Monday.
The forward score 16 goals in 35 appearances for Villa last season.
